How Does EFT Work?

When there is a disruption in the energy system of your body, you are likely to suffer from negative emotions. Learning to tap will allow you to better handle negative emotions when they come up. The tapping motion in combination with the act of acknowledging a particular issue leads to the release of blockages in the energy system. As a result, the normal flow of energy in the body is restored, and the person feels better and can feel physically well after the treatment.  When familiar with the process you really can use EFT to help yourself in moments of doubt, confusion, upheaval and fear, or even to prepare for an event, the thought of which may create worry, anxiety and fear, e.g., childbirth, starting a new business, job interview etc.  Likewise, when you experience a negative emotion, it leads to energy changes. This is why when you are upset, you can feel sluggish too and all kinds of other negative emotions come into play. EFT works by tapping away negative energy blockages and disturbances. It thereby helps restore your energy flow in its natural balanced state, which is ideal for overall health and well-being. Through EFT, you may experience a change in the way you feel about experiences and situations that initially upset you in the past. EFT is simple, but its simplicity does not take away from its effectiveness. As long as you are clear and specific about the issue, and provided the EFT methods are handled well, you can overcome the negativity that holds you back.

Tapping: this therapy uses tapping techniques to stimulate energy within the body. The tapping itself is done by your fingertips. There are thought to be many meridian points on your fingertips themselves. Therefore, using them during tapping allows you to target multiple meridian points at once.  While tapping on these acupressure points along meridians, or pathways of energy throughout the body, and being tuned in to a specific problem or issue, the mind/body energy system is “straightened out,” and the energy becomes available so we can heal. More often than not, the specific physical or emotional pain being addressed dissolves completely and permanently.

I work in collaboration with you to see how your particular symptoms may actually be stopping you from feeling free. This may seem strange at first, as often the first thing when having a symptom is wanting to get rid of it and it’s something that’s not useful to us. But often, underneath all that, there is usually a good reason to keep it. Which is why, for some people working on the initial problem provides no relief, as the emotional unconscious knowings were never targeted or brought to light in order for the symptoms to go. I together with you, work to discover what the belief is and bring it to light. Human beings have an energy body that energy flows through. Your thoughts and emotions are governed by this flow of energy, like boulders in a river, they will manifest in your mind and body as negative emotions and physical pain. The good news is you can clear up disturbances in the energy field quite rapidly and this in turn balances your emotions.

Because of the association and roots with psychology, psychologists and therapists, TFT, EFT and numerous other Tapping Techniques became known as the Energy Psychology field.
